FACC Helsinki
President's Message
Dear Reader,
I have the pleasure of addressing you for the first time in the capacity
of the newly elected president of the Finnish-American Chamber of Commerce
in Helsinki. The new Board met in the beginning of September to discuss
the program for the autumn and the coming spring. Finland is for the time
being busy with the Chairmanship of the EU. This means that multilateral
issues are high on the agenda. We cannot, however, neglect the bilateral
ones.
My personal goal supported by the board is to activate our members to further develop the ties across the Atlantic by benefiting from the network of active Chambers across the US. In this respect I have warmly welcomed the initiative of our ambassador in Washington to convene the chambers for an annual gathering.
Building an international business is always a matter of contact between people and this is equally true in the Finnish-American relations. The network of Chambers has a role in this bridge building. I am looking forward to working with you all for this common goal.
Ole Johansson, Chairman
